Selling your home

Are you considering selling your home? Sorenson Law Office is prepared to protect your interests in selling your home by drafting and reviewing listing agreements and offers; drafting deeds, transfer returns, and other important documents; and assisting you with the closing process.

buying a home

Real estate agents are prohibited from giving legal advice and don't always keep the best interests of the Buyer in mind. The attorneys at Sorenson Law Office will represent your interests, and your interests only. We can draft offers to purchase and advise you on important contingencies so that your rights are protected. We will also examine the seller's title and answer any questions you may have about the property. We will also assist in reviewing your financial documents, such as the mortgage and note.

What is title insurance?

When purchasing a home, you will want to know if the seller has good title to the property. This is accomplished by using title insurance. The attorneys at Sorenson Law Office are experienced in reviewing title insurance policies and advising buyers on whether or not the title is good.

Types of Deeds

The two most common types of deeds in a real estate transaction are Warranty Deeds and Quit Claim Deeds. Warranty Deeds guarantee that the title to the property is free and clear of defects and claims against the property, unless they are mentioned in the actuall Deed. Quit Claim Deeds simply transfer title without any such guarantees. Sorenson Law Office can advise you on what type of deed is best for your particular real estate transaction.

Purchase by land contract

Land contracts are used when a seller finances a buyer's real estate purchase, instead of a commercial lender. This process can allow for more flexibility and may be cheaper than going through a commercial lender. The attorneys at Sorenson Law Office are prepared to advise buyers and sellers regarding the details of land contracts.
